The first time you you come, it’s a good idea to arrive at least 5 minutes before the class starts to meet the teacher(s) and check in for the class. He or she can tell you a little about what to expect about the class, and is happy to respond to any questions.
For solo technique for partner dancers and contemporary dance we use bare feet and socks, so for those classes you don’t need any shoes. For the Zouk classes you will need to wear footwear that you can move well in, without getting too stuck on the floor and without slipping. We recommend comfortable shoes without rubber soles. Dance shoes such with suede soles are good if you dance a lot, to protect your joints. Ladies may wear high heels, but it is by no means a requirement.
It depends on the class. Most of the classes are for beginners, so you do not need any previous experience to participate. On our intermediate and advanced classes you should have tried it before. If you are unsure about your level, you can always send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll help you answer any questions you have.
As a starting point our classes are for all ages, however we recommend for partner dancing that you are 15 +. And there’s nothing called too old to dance! If you have difficulty with certain movements, our teachers will help you find an alternative that suits your body. Just talk with the teacher!
